In Türkiye, the age and licence requirements for renting a car are not set by a single rule but by the company and the car class. On 13 October 2026 we looked at 1,859 offers on RentaCarSAW: the most common requirement is age 21 and a licence held for 2 years. You can also rent at age 21 with a licence held for 1 year, but only from 9 companies, in 8% of the offers. At age 23 with a licence held for 2 years, more than half of the offers are open to you, and at age 25 with a licence held for 3 years, 89%. In the luxury class, the requirement rises to age 27 and 5 years.

How to rent as a young driver
- Choose the economy class: most offers open to drivers aged 21 with a licence held for 1–2 years are in the economy class.
- Look at more than one company: 25 of the 45 companies have a minimum age of 21; at the same pickup point, one company may accept 21 while another asks for 25.
- Age 20: in our measurement, 7 offers from 3 companies accepted drivers aged 20, all with a licence held for at least 2 years.
